Portland Business Pledge · 2026 Founding Class

We invest in the neighborhoods
we do business in.

Portland business owners are coming together to build the human infrastructure layer that protects the neighborhoods we do business in. Property values. Safety. Cleanliness. Community. We handle every service in your name. You get the credit. Your neighborhood gets the results.

A new category of service
The human infrastructure layer that supports your business neighborhood — in a way that has never been done before.
Property value protection
A well-maintained, actively monitored commercial street retains and grows its property value. Neglect compounds. Investment compounds. The businesses that commit to their neighborhood early protect what they have built — and increase what it is worth.
Neighborhood health and safety
Clean streets attract customers. Safe overnight environments reduce incidents and insurance exposure. A neighborhood that is cared for signals to every person who walks through it that the businesses here are invested in the community — and worth returning to.
The layer no one else provides
City services handle roads and emergency response. No existing service takes ownership of an entire commercial street, monitors it overnight, and delivers that work in the name of the businesses who fund it. That is what NVP+ does. That is what has never been done before.
"The city maintains the roads. Who maintains the neighborhood your business does business in?"
Neighborhood Value Plus™ — Portland, Oregon
What this is

Owner to owner.
Business to neighborhood.

This is not advertising. This is a monthly commitment from business owners who understand that the health of their neighborhood is the health of their business — and that someone has to show up and do the work.

The whole street. Not just your door.
We clean the entire street you do business on. Every visit is photo-documented. Your business gets the credit for keeping this neighborhood clean.
Overnight. When nobody else is watching.
We check your building between 2 and 3am — every night. You wake up to a photo of your storefront and a message: your business is safe.
You find out first if something is wrong.
Broken window. Graffiti. Suspicious activity. We contact you immediately — with photo, time, and next steps — before you arrive to open.
A documented record of your investment.
Every cleanup and overnight check is timestamped and logged in a monthly report sent directly to you.
Your business in the NVP+ platform.
Listed in the Neighborhood Value Plus™ app — visible to every subscriber in your neighborhood. Your business becomes part of the neighborhood infrastructure.
Services run in your name.
Every service we deliver is attributed to your business in the neighborhood. The street improves. The community sees who made it happen.
The pledge

Two levels of commitment.
One shared purpose.

Every business — regardless of size or revenue — begins at the same level. What you invest is your choice. What you build over time is your legacy.

The recognition program

Every business starts at the same level.
Every year, your recognition grows.

Recognition is earned by years — not by how much you invest or how large your business is. A coffee cart and a restaurant on the same street earn the same plaque for the same commitment. Consistency is the only currency.

Year 1 — Active on day one
Bronze Neighborhood Contributor
Your pledge is active. Within 48 hours your business receives a window recognition display with a QR code linking to the live contributor wall. Every customer and passerby who stops at your window sees that your business is invested in this neighborhood's future.

Year 2 — One full year complete
Silver Neighborhood Contributor
One full year of investment in your neighborhood. Your window display is replaced with a weather-resistant exterior sign — gold border, your business name, street-facing. The surrounding businesses notice. The foot traffic notices.

The principle
Every business in the founding class starts the clock at the same moment.
Recognition is earned by years, not dollars
A Clean Street Partner and a Guardian Safety Partner earn identical recognition at every milestone. Longevity is what gets recognized. Investment level does not determine legacy.
The founding class advances together
Every business that joins during this pilot begins Year 1 simultaneously. In year five, the entire founding class reaches Diamond Neighborhood Anchor together — same neighborhoods, same timeline, same recognition. There is no catching up later. This is the beginning.
Your recognition grows as NVP+ grows
Each year NVP+ expands across Oregon and nationally, the Diamond Neighborhood Anchor designation carries more weight. The businesses that were here first become the standard every neighborhood that joins after is measured against.
The plaque is permanent. The work already happened.
From Gold onward, the placard or plaque remains on the building as a record of what was built here — not just what is being paid today. The neighborhood remembers who showed up.

Our story

Three generations of community.
One operating system.

In the 1960s, Rev. Wendell Wallace Sr. led a congregation in Portland's inner city that united neighbors across every divide at a time when almost no institution in America did. His wife Leona spent two decades as a community agent — counseling young people, carrying groceries to neighbors in need, raising ten children. Portland called her Granny. She passed on July 4, 2024, at 92.

"I did not build this platform to sell something. I built it to continue what my grandparents started — with better tools. The method changed. The mission never did."
